The Chicago Cubs have found the frontline starter they spent all July searching for. Per Jeff Passan of ESPN, the Cubs are acquiring right-hander Kevin Gausman in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays.
"The Cubs have sought a playoff-caliber starting pitcher all deadline, and now they've landed one," Passan reported. Ken Rosenthal and Mitch Bannon were first on the news.
The Blue Jays are acquiring Ty Southiesene (#21 prospect) and Brett Bateman (#13 prospect) in return.

Less than a year after winning the American League pennant, the Toronto Blue Jays are going into selling mode ahead of the MLB trade deadline.
The Blue Jays cut ties with a pitcher who won 53 games over the previous five seasons
The Los Angeles Dodgers got their man, and he was the one player they were ready to aggressively target before Monday's trade deadline.
Whether it be the Blue Jays preparing for a Kevin Gausman trade, or the Houston Astros trying and failing to add Tarik Skubal, the MLB trade deadline is in full force.
Cardinals 5 Blue Jays 1 Well….it was a close game until the top of the ninth. Tie game, Louis Varland comes in. He’s been so good, I’m already thinking about the bottom of the inning. Well, he wasn’t ‘so good’ today. His inning went: Max Scherzer was terrific. 6 innings, 4 hits, 1 earned, 1 […]
To say that Matthew Liberatore has struggled this season is to state the obvious. But, he tossed one of the best games of his career Sunday in Toronto as he completely shut the defending AL Champion Blue Jays down for 6 innings outdueling the Blue Jays Max Scherzer in the process. The Cardinals offense would […]

Earlier this week, the Cubs designated right-handed starter Jameson Taillon for assignment. Today, they completed a trade that sends Taillon to the Toronto Blue Jays for cash considerations or a player to be named later. A few days after designating Jameson Taillon for assignment, the Cubs have traded him to the Blue Jays for either a player to be named later or cash considerations. It’s hard to imagine much coming of this, other than Taillon maybe getting a chance to rebuild a little value heading into free agency. The Jays …

Even when Kawhi Leonard’s return to the Toronto Raptors was nothing but a fantasy, fans have long clamoured for a very specific type of archetype. It’s a need that the front-office has struggled to fill since leaning on champions Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka – a two-way stretch five. Anytime a player like Chris Boucher, […]
The Blue Jays have acquired Jameson Taillon from the Cubs, the team announced. Utility player Lenyn Sosa is moving to the 60-day IL to make room for the right-hander on the 40-man roster (per Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi). Game #112 We have baseball to watch, while we wait for trade news. We can be on hug watch if nothing else. A three game win streak shouldn’t excite us so much, but we haven’t won three in a row since….well, early in July. I thought it would be longer. But if we win four […]

We are about 31 hours short of the trade deadline and the Jays haven’t made a move yet. I’m expecting trades, but I will be sad to see guys leaving the team. I’ve been putting off hitting publish hoping something comes up. The Jays have been too quiet, there aren’t any rumors or anything at […]

The Toronto Maple Leafs emerged from the 2026 NHL draft with more excitement surrounding their prospect pipeline than there has been in several years. Little hope remains for the Toronto Blue Jays to make the playoffs this year. With more than two-thirds of the season complete, the Blue Jays (52-59) sit in last place in the AL East and could become sellers at the trade deadline. That means time may be running out in Toronto for several players on […]
