Orioles Claim Former Top Prospect Pitcher Off Waivers

The Baltimore Orioles added some high-velocity bullpen depth, claiming right-hander Yosver Zulueta off waivers from the Chicago Cubs and optioning him to Triple-A. No corresponding move was necessary, as Baltimore had an open spot on its 40-man roster. A Lot of Stuff, Not Much Control Zulueta is a hard thrower who racks up strikeouts, and his ground-ball numbers are pretty encouraging, with a 55.4 percent grounder rate this season and a 54 percent mark over his brief major league time. ...

Red Sox Veteran Takes Sly Dig at Kyle Tucker as Career-Worst Offensive Struggles Continue

A “very telling” move. That’s how manager Dave Roberts described Kyle Tucker’s move to Dodger Stadium this season. Naturally, considering the numbers Tucker put up during seven seasons with the Houston Astros and one with the Chicago Cubs, expectations were high. To some degree, he delivered, hitting .297 with a .910 OPS in the three […] The post Red Sox Veteran Takes Sly Dig at Kyle Tucker as Career-Worst Offensive Struggles Continue appeared first on EssentiallySports .

My All-Time Historical Bears Team: Team Sweetness

Never make the same mistake twice. In 2018, when the WCG crew did our first all-time Bears draft, I made a whole draft plan based on the notion that I would surely not get the #1 pick and therefore would not get to pick Walter Payton. So of course I got the #1 pick. And […]

Royals 5, White Sox 4: Not Anthony Kay’s day

Anthony Kay didn't have it, and the White Sox offense couldn't quite bring it. Kay gave up runs in each of the four innings he started, immediately squandering a pair of early leads provided by the Sox offense. Five White Sox relievers kept the Royals scoreless to keep the game within reach, but five Royals relievers kept the White Sox scoreless, and so the 5-4 final score was frozen in place after 3½ innings. Heat Rumors: Powell, Bulls, Hield, Hardaway, Conley

There’s a “growing consensus” around the NBA that the Heat won’t be able to re-sign Norman Powell, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Miami is facing a financial crunch after agreeing to trade for superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and fellow big man Bobby Portis. The team will be hard-capped at the first tax apron after […]

The Orioles claimed right-hander Yosver Zulueta off waivers from the Cubs and then optioned the right-hander to Triple-A.  No other roster move was necessary since Baltimore had an open space on its 40-man roster.  Francys Romero was the first to report the move, shortly before the O’s made the official announcement. Chicago designated Zulueta for […]
