It’s still a little weird seeing Karl-Anthony Towns in another team’s uniform. On the night before Christmas Eve, the Minnesota Timberwolves took on Towns and the New York Knicks in a game that was far less emotional than last year’s game between these two teams in Minnesota. While Towns has settled in with his new […]
The first period of this game was a dump and chase drill. The teams combined to put ten shots on net (6-4 in favor of the Flyers). Philly’s second shot didn’t happen until 10:17 had come off the clock. Unfortunately, it went in. The Blackhawks had a 7-3 advantage in scoring chances in the first period at 5-on-5 , but were chasing one after one.
The Blackhawks and Flyers really made it feel like both teams have three days off after this game in the second period… until the Flyers amazingly...
The lack of offense from this team is completely unacceptable. The New Jersey Devils lost 2-1 to the New York Islanders on Long Island tonight. The game was tied 1-1 until about a minute left in the third period, until Adam Pelech scored a backbreaking goal off a broken play to snatch at least a […]
Just two days before Christmas, the slumping Bruins delivered a heaping helping of coal in your stocking. The B’s allowed four Montreal goals in the third period en route to a convincing 6-2 loss, the fourth in a row for the home team. It was a 2-2 game at the start of the third period, […]
First period
The game begins with Josh Anderson and Tanner Jeannot squaring up at centre ice. We have our tone for this game. Precisely the one the Bruins wanted.
Phillip Danault continues the shift with Brendan Gallagher in Anderson’s place and they help draw a holding call when Alexandre Texier is grabbed behind the net.
Lane Hutson attempts a pass across the top of the zone, and it leads to a two-on-one from the two Bruins forwards you don’t want to allow one to. Jacob Fowl...
Alexis Lafrenière's 100th career goal was the game winner in an exciting come-from-behind win for the Rangers ahead of the holiday break.
Looking to go into the holiday break on a positive note after two gut-wrenching losses in Florida last weekend, the Carolina Hurricanes laid another egg in Raleigh on Tuesday, falling 5-2 to the Florida Panthers after one of the more dismal periods of hockey the team has played under Rod Brind’Amour. Just as they did […]
Coming off the firing of an assistant coach and sitting last in the Eastern Conference after losing three straight/five of their previous six, the Maple Leafs’ pre-Christmas break matchup against the Penguins felt more significant than the typical game #36 on the NHL schedule. While he played just 17:23 and showed the completely expected signs […]

The Colorado Avalanche and Utah Mammoth will meet for the third time this season tonight, this time at Ball Arena. The home of the Avalanche has already seen a ton of wins this season, and it’s not even 2026 yet. The Mammoth come in having just beaten the Jets in overtime, and Colorado is following […]
Craig Berube addressed the media after his team’s 6-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, which improved the Maple Leafs’ record to 16-15-5. On the confusion around who has taken over the power play coaching, after mixed messages in the earlier press conferences between him and Brad Treliving: The PP stuff — I know that Brad […]

The Penguins fell 6-3 in Toronto today. Max Domi scored the go-ahead goal and the Maple Leafs tacked on a pair of empty net goals to make the final score look lopsided.
The San Jose Sharks take a brief trip to Vegas before they go their separate ways for the holiday break. San Jose has lost two games in a row and is desperate to avoid a third. So far, the team has been pretty good about keeping the losing streaks short, but this might be the toughest test yet, going against the Vegas Golden Knights, which is ranked second in the Pacific Division as of this morning.
The Sharks should have an extra incentive not to let Vegas win tonight. Carter Hart is exp...
Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin made an appearance on Amazon Prime's intermission panel this week, and told the crew that his team is undergoing what he calls a 'hybrid retool.' What that really means is, from all accounts, don't expect a mass sell-off. In particular, 12 players are likely going nowhere. Allvin said the Quinn Hughes trade with Minnesota brought them young players who are pieces for the future, but, essentially, ready to contribute now. Canucks GM Patrik Allvin jo...
Remember when the Edmonton Oilers sucked, and we all criticized them? Yeah, well, that was justified. But the schedule didn’t do them any favours. That was one of the worst schedules we’ve seen in a long time. Multiple four-game road trips. A seven-game eastern swing through exclusively Eastern Conference opponents. Six time-zone changes in roughly…

It’s almost break time, folks! The Flyers are closing out their slate of action before the holidays with a quick trip out to Chicago to face off against the Blackhawks. They’re coming off of a huge win over the Canucks last night in their final home game of the year, but the next challenge is still ahead of them: keeping that momentum rolling.

Despite a five-goal outbreak against the Philadelphia Flyers on the weekend, the New York Rangers have been struggling to score. They have four games of zero or one goal in their last seven, and currently sit dead last in the Eastern Conference with just 97 goals scored this season, in 38 games, going into Tuesday's action. But their leading scorer, Artemi Panarin, might not be long for the Big Apple. A pending unrestricted free agent, he has had no extension talks since turning down a d...

While pending unrestricted free agent Rasmus Andersson's future remains up in the air in Calgary, he is still one of the top trade candidates in the NHL. And while certain teams have been mentioned as likely landing spots, we're getting a little more clarity on where he'd be willing to sign an extension. And while the d-man only has a six-team no-trade list, giving him limited say in the matter, where he does have a say, is where he'd be open to extending. Insider Frank Seravalli explain...
Fermín López made the most of Barcelona’s Christmas break by returning to El Campillo, the small Huelva town where his football journey began. What started as a quiet holiday visit quickly turned into an emotional series of events that highlighted the close bond between the midfielder and his roots. One of the most talked about […]
