The Chicago Blackhawks welcome the New York Rangers to the United Center on Wednesday night, kicking off the first of their two matchups this season and with both teams looking to get back in the win column.
The Rangers’ season so far has been defined by uneven stretches and a standings picture that changes every other night. They’re currently on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff race, but the Eastern Conference is so tightly packed that one good run — or one poorly time...

For everyone wanted the Blackhawks to call up a forward for additional depth before playing three games in four days, your wish is granted.
No, it’s not Nick Lardis .
On Tuesday morning, the Blackhawks recalled forward Dominic Toninato from the IceHogs.
Toninato, 31, has 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in 24 games this season with Rockford. He appeared in 20 NHL games with the Winnipeg Jets the previous three seasons combined. The Blackhawks signed Toninato to a two-year, tw...

The 2026 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship will take place between Dec. 26, 2025 and Jan. 5, 2026, in Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota. If we’ve learned anything about the World Junior Championship, it would be wise for countries to have a Blackhawks prospect on their roster.
Each of the last five gold medal winning teams had at least one Blackhawks prospect (already drafted by Chicago) on its roster — and a couple more who eventually became Blackhawks.
Here’s the list of ...

On Monday afternoon the Blackhawks assigned defenseman Sam Rinzel and forward Landon Slaggert to the Rockford IceHogs.
The Blackhawks did not call anyone up.
The move leaves the Blackhawks with six defensemen on their NHL roster, which means they’ll go back to skating 12 forwards. Which, with Slaggert going to Rockford, also means Sam Lafferty will draw into the lineup until Nick Foligno returns from injury.

Following a dreadful pair of games over the weekend, the Blackhawks made a couple of roster moves that have seemed increasingly likely over the last few weeks.
On Monday, the Blackhawks announced that Landon Slaggert and Sam Rinzel have both been sent to the Rockford IceHogs.
The Blackhawks have sent Sam Rinzel and Landon Slaggert down to Rockford. Slaggert was expected. Rinzel wasn't. But this does feel like the right time for a confidence reset for him. — Ben Pope (@BenPopeCS...

Frank Nazar is on the struggle bus right now for the Chicago Blackhawks. He hasn’t scored a goal since Oct. 28 — a stretch of 17 games. And some fans have extrapolated from his goal scoring woes that he isn’t playing well in other areas of the game.
Since he returned from the injury he suffered in Calgary, Nazar has nine assists in 12 games; he has assists in eight of the 12 games. He’s put 23 shots on net over that span, but none of them have found the back of the net.

One week ago, the Blackhawks came back from a three-goal deficit to blow the doors off the Anaheim Ducks in Chicago. The game was chippy. The two teams were chirping each other the entire 60 minutes. And the Blackhawks let them know what the final score was as they left the ice.
One week later, Joel Quenneville may have dusted off his Michael Jordan “and I took that personally” meme collection and got his team ready to play. The Blackhawks didn’t get off the bus, and the Ducks didn’t take...

When the Blackhawks hosted the Ducks one week ago, Anaheim jumped all over them and took and early lead. They pressed the Blackhawks early and often in the first period again tonight, but it took move than 10 minutes for the home team to take the lead tonight. The Ducks only scored once in the first period.
The Blackhawks were completely overwhelmed in the second period, and the dam eventually broke. That tends to happen when the shots on goal ratio is nearly 4:1 in favor of the other tea...

A weeklong jaunt out west ends on Sunday night with the Blackhawks in the OC to face the Anaheim Ducks.
This game serves as the final piece of bread on a California-centric sandwich of games that had one in Vegas and a pair in LA on the inside of it. These two teams met last Sunday at the United Center, with a Connor Bedard Show taking over during a 5-3 Blackhawks victory . Anaheim’s had three more games since, picking up wins over St. Louis last Monday and over Washington on Friday but h...

The Blackhawks spent three days in Los Angeles and came away with one win — in the first of the two games. Last night’s game saw the Blackhawks skate a good first period and then the wheels completely fall off. They’ll look to rebound against an Anaheim team they haven’t seen nearly as recently as the Kings; it’s been one full week since the Blackhawks and Ducks squared off.
The Hawks won’t have a morning skate again on Sunday, but we can safely assume Arvid Söderblom will get the start b...

The Chicago Blackhawks were thoroughly steamrolled Saturday night, surrendering six goals to the LA Kings and being shutout while offering all the resistance of a revolving door. Gross.
Warren Foegele opened the scoring 1:55 into the second period, dropping to one knee and hammering home a one-timer set up by Trevor Moore. Tyler Bertuzzi coughed the puck up along the boards trying to kick it out of danger and too many other Blackhawks were puck watching, leaving Foegele wide open.
