Today on Pinstripe Alley – 5/22/26

The Yankees had a real chance to turn things around this week, pulling out a pair of dramatic wins to open up their four-gams series with the Blue Jays. But their offense laid an egg in the final two contests, scoring one run combined and having to settle for a split with Toronto. No matter, […]

Friday’s Brotherhood Playoff News & Links

Although Tyrese Proctor finally got off the bench for Cleveland, it’s not looking good for the Cavaliers, who lost 109-93 to New York Thursday night. Proctor played for just a minute but did not register in the box score. Still, he got to play in an Conference Finals, and not many people, including former Duke […]

Knicks 109, Cavs 93: Scenes from Josh Hart’s turn

We knew it before the series started, and tonight we saw the proof again: the Cavaliers just can’t match the offensive depth of New York. While Cleveland relied on Donovan Mitchell (26 PTS), the husk of James Harden, and their two big men, all five Knicks starters logged double-digit points. Late into the fourth quarter, […]

Poor shooting dooms Cavs in 109-93 Game 2 loss to Knicks

The Cleveland Cavaliers chose to give up an inexplicably large run earlier in Game 2 than they did on Tuesday. Eighteen unanswered points from the New York Knicks turned what was a tie game into an insurmountable lead, given how Cleveland shot the ball. The Knicks cruised to an easy 109-93 victory to take a […]

Spencer Miles Was Great, Jays Win

Jays 2 Yankees 0 I’m thinking it is time to forget about the ‘opener’ thing for Spencer Miles, just start him. But then again, if it ain’t broke…. Miles was amazing, 4.1 innings, 2 hits, 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. He was unhittable . I want him keeping the fifth starter role. He was awarded […]

ECF Game Thread: Knicks vs. Cavaliers, Game 2, May 21, 2026

The Eastern Conference Finals resume tonight at Madison Square Garden with the Knicks holding a 1-0 series lead after Tuesday’s astonishing comeback victory over Cleveland. Donovan “Spida” Mitchell remains fully capable of carrying Cleveland for stretches, but the Cavs were totally gassed late in Game 1, particularly James Harden, who shot terribly, committed a half-dozen […]

Peterson and the bullpen combine for a gem, Mets win

David Peterson and the Mets’ bullpen combined to hold the Nationals to one run, which meant that Bo Bichette’s two-run single in the top of the third was just enough for the Mets to beat the Nationals by a 2-1 score and get out of D.C. with a series split. Peterson might not have been […]

Legendary Former Knicks Coach Jeff Van Gundy A Frontrunner for NBA Head Coach Opening

After a couple of decades out of the coaching business, former New York Knicks legendary coach Jeff Van Gundy made his way back in the past couple of seasons, as an assistant with the Los Angeles Clippers.  Now, a breaking report says he has vaulted to the forefront as one of the frontrunners for the head coaching vacancy for the Portland Trail Blazers. Portland Trail Blazers have requested permission to meet with Los Angeles Clippers assistant Jeff Van Gundy as he has emerged as one of t...

Discuss Knicks-Cavs Game 2 Here!

The NBA Playoffs continue tonight with Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers! After an epic collapse in Game 1, it’s time to see if the Cavaliers can bounce back and manage to get a crucial split in New York. Here’s the game info: No. 4 Cleveland […]

Game #50 GameThread: Jays @ Yankees

Just in case I don’t get home before game time, use this as the game thread. I expect to be home before, but best laid plans and all. I’m looking forward to seeing how Spencer Miles does tonight. He’s been terrific in this role. I’m thinking they could skip the opener thing, but i don’t […]

Simon Nemec Trade Rumors Rule The Day For The Devils

Does he or doesn't he want out? The Simon Nemec trade buzz has picked up again big-time on Thursday, with two conflicting reports leaving New Jersey Devils fans confused.  A report out of Nemec's home country of Slovakia indicated that the pending RFA defenseman wanted out of New Jersey.  A trade for Šimon Nemec in the NHL is more real than ever, even considering that such speculation has been circulating around him for a long time.  The translation of the article goes on to say...

MLB Trade Rumors: Projected Trade Sees Yankees Nab Another Closer From NL Team

The New York Yankees have lost their grip on the AL East that they held through the season's first six weeks. They now find themselves 4.0 games back of the Tampa Bay Rays.  With high-leverage relievers David Bednar and Camilo Doval each sporting ERAs above 5.00, it's likely they'll try to firm up the back end of the bullpen once again at this year's trade deadline. In 2025, Bednar and Doval were each brought in, but given the volatility of closers, it's a new year, and new reinforcements...
