Good Morning Birdland, The offseason is just getting started, but O’s GM Mike Elias has already been active. Tuesday was a busy one. The team officially introduced Craig Albernaz as their new manager, they reacquired reliever Andrew Kittredge from the Cubs, and it was reported that two of their coaches from 2025 had found jobs […]

Open Thread: Check out Wemby’s circus shot

There are plenty of videos out there of NBA players making crazy shots. Last season, Sandro Mamukelashvili made a trick shot that went viral. Stephen Curry deserves a channel that keeps record of his pregame routine. Add to the list of A-list long balls, enter Spurs big man and future face of the NBA Victor […]

New York Jets Flight Connections 11/05/25

Good morning Gang Green Nation! The New York Jets shocked a lot of people yesterday. They traded arguably the two best players on the team in Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner. In exchange the Jets received wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, defensive tackle Mazi Smith, three first round picks and a second round pick. The Jets […]

Should We Be Worried For Cooper Flagg?

My concern is simple: the Mavericks are not doing right by Cooper Flagg. For a generational rookie, the ping pong ball could’ve bounced anywhere — maybe to Washington, where Flagg would’ve missed shots, lost games, but played freely in his role and grown through reps. Instead, he lands in Dallas — a franchise that went […]

The Downbeat: The Utah Jazz preseason did not happen

If you are reading this, it can mean just one thing: I am already dead. I was asking too many questions, I had stuck my nose into business other than my own, but most importantly: I saw the one thing that the Utah Jazz front office absolutely did not want unpriveledged eyes to witness. I […]

The Film Room: Minnesota Edition

Another week has brought about another loss for the Michigan State football Spartans. It is beyond unfortunate that this has become the norm in year two under Jonathan Smith, as MSU moves to 0-6 in the Big Ten for the first time since 2016. The 23-20 overtime loss to PJ Fleck’s Minnesota Golden Gophers delivered […]

Colts GM Chris Ballard just built a 3-year window to win a championship

Just hours before the trade deadline, Chris Ballard and the Indianapolis Colts made a blockbuster trade for Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, star cornerback of the New York Jets. Gardner, just 25 and already one of the league’s premier cover men, brings elite length, physicality at the line, and the kind of confidence that shrinks throwing windows […]

Every year, taking players from the college ranks has been the basis of improving every roster in the NFL. This year, the Arizona Cardinals’ GM Monti Ossenfort focused on getting quality players for the defensive side of the […]

Morning Skate: Khudini

Now you see him, now you don’t? The Bruins won their fourth game in a row last night, beating the Islanders 4-3 in a shootout. It was a pretty even, back-and-forth game: 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, etc. It was Marat Khusnutdinov who emerged as the hero for the Bruins, first tying the game with under […]

Lightning come up short in Colorado, 3-2

We’ll keep this short. A couple of mistakes ended up in the back of the net, and the power play continued to struggle as the Lightning had their five-game winning streak snapped by the Avalanche in a 3-2 loss. The good news. Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov scored 5v5 goals. The bad news, well everything else. Max Crozier returned as the Bolts went 11/7. Andrei Vasileskiy had 30 saves on 33 shots.

Wednesday Headlines: Kentucky vs. Nicholls Reactions

Good morning, BBN! The Kentucky Wildcats defeated the Colonels 77-51 last night to start the 2025-26 College Basketball season 1-0. It was a lackluster first half. Kentucky came out slow and only scored eight points in the first eight minutes of the game. Ball movement was non-existent, and they were missing nearly every shot they […]

After allowing its fewest points in the Brenda Frese era in its season opener against Loyola Maryland, Maryland women’s basketball plays host another in-state opponent, UMBC, Thursday evening. The Terps will look to make it two wins in four days at the Xfinity Center, against another opponent it should dismantle with relative ease. The game […]
