HagensWatch is (kind of) officially over, as the Bruins announced late Monday night that they’ve signed their 2025 first-round pick to an amateur tryout agreement, or an ATO. An ATO can be viewed as a compromise of sorts between the player and the team: Hagens will get a chance to show his stuff at the […]
The Florida Panthers (34-32-3) open a brief two-game homestand when they host the Seattle Kraken (31-26-9) tonight in Sunrise to close out the season-series between the two far-flung clubs.
Florida dropped a 4-1 decision to the Calgary Flames on Friday to finish its four-game road trip with a one win and three losses. A.J. Greer scored the only goal and also managed to get himself suspended for three games by first hooking, then boarding Connor Zary in the third period. Donovan Sebrango a...

The Montreal Canadiens managed one shot in the first period when they played the Los Angeles Kings on the road on March 7. It was an opponent the Habs had struggled against for years, unable to penetrate the neutral-zone forecheck of a team with solid defensiv...
*The Flyers play the Blue Jackets for the second time in as many weeks tonight, a team with whom they are in direct competition for a playoff spot. Ten days ago, they absolutely blew it. Tonight, they gotta get out there and prove they’re a team that wants to play past April. Time to nut up or shut up, boys. [ BSH ]
*Anyhoo, got a bit of news yesterday as the Flyers signed another one of their prospects to his ELC. [ BSH ]
*You may have noticed, over the weekend, that Owen T...
Former #1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft Markelle Fultz signed a 10-Day contract with the Toronto Raptors yesterday after spending time with their G-League affiliate this season. The last time Fultz played in the NBA was with the Sacramento Kings in the 2024-25 season where he averaged 2.9 points in 21 games. Although the […]
Boston College's James Hagens signed a pro contract this week with the Boston Bruins, the team that selected him seventh overall in last year's NHL Draft. This is really no surprise for a player of his caliber. He's a Hobey Baker Award finalist and high draft pick, who scored 23 goals this year, and has already played two seasons in college. But note the wording ... "pro contract." Not "NHL contract...

Jordi Fernández was a big fan of the Brooklyn Nets’ performance against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday evening, a hard-fought game that resulted in a 126-122 Kings victory. The head coach described it as “very positive,” and it was easy to see why. Ben Saraf turned in a career-best performance as did Malachi Smith, Ziaire […]
Recap of the game.
Must-win accomplished but who's playing D tomorrow?
Mika Zibanejad’s milestone night deserved better. Instead, the Rangers delivered one of their worst offensive performances in franchise history, managing just nine shots in a lifeless loss to Ottawa.
It was a pretty good week for the Tampa Bay Lightning as they took seven out of eight points on their trip out west. Andrei Vasilevskiy picked up three wins, but the engine behind the wins was Nikita Kucherov. The winger put up 6 goals and 7 assists with two of those tallies counting as game-winners. The thirteen points moved him past Connor McDavid in the Art Ross race and garnered him the First Star of the Week Award from the NHL.
The Predators Filip Forsberg, 4 goals, 5 assists, and Mo...
The Nets lost (or won) depending on how you look at it against the Kings. We’re in the final stretch and guys are going down. Egor Demin is done for the year, Michael Porter Jr. is out at least 2-3 weeks, and Danny Wolf left the game with an ankle sprain. We’ll see what these […]
The Texas Rangers have optioned pitcher Luis Curvelo and outfielders Michael Helman and Alejandro Osuna to AAA Round Rock, the team announced this evening. This leaves the team with 27 players on the 40 man roster who have not been optioned or put on the 60 day injured list. Codys Bradford and Freeman will presumably […]
The Carolina Hurricanes usually leave a lot to be desired. The 'Canes have consistently been one of the best regular season hockey teams throughout the past decade, however, can't seem to get over the hump and win multiple playoff rounds. This season, the Hurricanes didn't make a huge splash at the trade deadline, despite making trade offers for Vincent Trocheck, Brayden Schenn and Elias Pettersson. Look for changes this offseason, as GM Eric Tulsky will be looking to re-tool on the fly, regar...
The Montreal Canadiens are one of the NHL's most entertaining teams, both on and off the ice. GM Kent Hughes has assembled a talented young core, and so far this season, it appears the Habs are going to exceed expectations, and potentially make some noise in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Off the ice, Hughes has constructed the best farm system in the league, and don't be surprised to see Hughes move some prospects at the NHL Draft and upgrade his lineup. There's going to be changes in Montreal, it...
With cacti and canyons behind them for another spring, the Texas Rangers begin their annual tune-up back in Arlington with a two-day exhibition slate against their Surprise roommates from KC. LHP MacKenzie Gore will take the mound in home whites for the first time for Texas opposite RHP Michael Wacha for the Royals. Today’s Lineups […]
Cactus League play has wrapped up, so the Royals begin their seemingly-annual exhibition trip to Dallas to play the Rangers at Globe Life in advance of Opening Day. It’s not spring training, it’s not the regular season, it’s…baseball purgatory I guess. I’ve heard you don’t want to be flying around Atlanta right now anyway. Huge […]
After Monday’s practice, head coach Craig Berube discussed the mentors trip, the message to the players during the final stretch of a lost season, Anthony Stolarz’s status, and William Nylander catching Stolarz high with a puck in warmups. What kind of a spark might the mentors’ presence provide for the group? Berube: It is always […]
The post Craig Berube on his expectations for the Leafs as they play out the string: “Where is your compete level? Are you playing for the crest on the front o...
The most successful program on campus did it again, toppling the top-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday with a 3-2 win to claim the Wisconsin Badgers ninth national championship in women’s hockey. It marked the fourth consecutive year the Badgers met the Buckeyes in the title game, with Wisconsin now claiming victory in three of […]

Connor McDavid briefly took part in Edmonton Oilers practice on Monday, but left the ice after a few minutes. No need to hold your breath, though. It was largely a maintenance day for the captain, but he still wanted to touch the ice. McDavid said it was “Just hips and groin stuff. It’s all good.” …
