The Connor Murphy trade chatter is picking up steam now that the trade freeze has been lifted, and the Edmonton Oilers sound like a team that could be interested. Edmonton Journal’s Jim Matheson floated the idea that Edmonton’s bigger deadline need is a right-shot top-four defender, and he pointed to Murphy as a good fit next to Darnell Nurse if the Chicago Blackhawks decide to sell.
