A curious correlation has emerged between playing a Game 7 overtime match against the Vancouver Canucks and advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals. Specifically, to date, winning the former has ensured an appearance in the latter. The Canucks met the Calgary Flames in three such overtime affairs and the Chicago Blackhawks once. Each time the victor qualified for the Cup Finals, hoisting once (1989

The rebuild has produced draft capital, cap space, and a prospect pool that analysts consistently rank among the best in the sport. What it has not yet produced is the impact forward...

Today In NHL History - Sami Salo's Balls of Steel

The Finn's miraculous return resulted in the well-deserved raucous chant "Balls of Steel", audible at the 1:00 mark of the video below.

Chicago Blackhawks Making Interesting Trade Offers

The Chicago Blackhawks are a team to watch on the offseason trade market. General manager Kyle Davidson needs to add some help for Connor Bedard and company, and are dangling the number four overall pick to see what kind of package they could land. Ideally, the Blackhawks would find a veteran defenceman with term left on his contract to add to the group. Davidson also has a slew of NHL ready prospects he could include in packages, and word is he's open to do so. Chicago also has a whopping thr...
