The Manitoba Moose ( 8-6-2 ) were in action at the Canada Life Centre on Saturday afternoon as they hosted their division rivals, the Chicago Wolves ( 7-5-3 ) for the second half of a two game set. The Moose pulled out a 2-1 victory over the Wolves on Thursday night, improving their record versus the Carolina Hurricanes minor league affiliate to 1-0-1 on the season.

The Winnipeg Jets ( 12-7-0 ) will be entering action tonight on a 2 game winning streak after downing the Calgary Flames & Columbus Blue Jackets. The franchise will be hoping their success against teams coming from places that start with the letter “C” can continue when the Carolina Hurricanes ( 13-5-2 ) visit the Canada Life Centre tonight. While the True Northers have been idle since Tuesday’s game, the Canes ended up losing an OT game to the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday.

The Manitoba Moose ( 7-6-2 ) have been playing some good hockey lately, coming into action on a 4 game winning streak where they have out-scored the opposition 14 to 7. The Winnipeg Jets’ minor league affiliate had just returned home from a 5 game road trip and were hoping they could continue to be as successful in their home barn. The competition this Thursday evening was a Central Division rival, the Chicago Wolves ( 7-4-3 ), who were sitting a place above our Moose by 1 point en...

While the players on the Winnipeg Jets weren’t in action on Wednesday, the front office staff were continuing the work of running the True North franchise. General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff has been working on an extension for team captain Adam Lowry since he successfully locked up sniper Kyle Connor earlier in the season. That worked finally paid off as the NHL team has reached an agreement with Lowry’s agent Craig Oster on a 5 year extension, giving Adam a raise to $5M per season.

The Winnipeg Jets are likely happy to be home after a disappointing 6 game road trip that ended with a 2-4-0 record due to too many defensive coverage errors. However, if you want to look at things more positively, then I’ll tell you that the True Northers have won 2 of their last 3 contests.
Regardless of your point of view, I think all the fans will be happy that our hockey team is pretty much fully healthy for the first time in the 2025-26 NHL campaign. Yes, extra defenseman Haydn Fleu...

Since I discovered the whole linking of YouTube videos to an article’s cover photo, I decided that I would add recaps of the Winnipeg Jets minor league affiliate to Arctic Ice Hockey . These often won’t involve a ton of observations from me on the Manitoba Moose’s performance, but the stat packages & linked recap video should give us fans a better idea how well the Jets’ future players are doing. Let me know in the Comment section if this is something you will regularly check out?

To start off….if you noticed the Play button that popped up on this article’s main photo, I inserted a link to YouTube’s recap of last night’s Manitoba Moose win to the article…give it a view and you will see a nice dish from rookie Brayden Yager . Didn’t know that was where it would pop up…but c’est la vie.

I know that I am getting tired of all these consecutive late start times for the Winnipeg Jets….yet they still have two more to go. The first of these will take place tonight at the Climate Pledge Arena in Washington state when our Jets will take on the Kraken, shortly followed by the final game of the road trip on Saturday in Calgary to clash with the Flames.
It will be the second meeting of the season for the Winnipeg Jets ( 10-6-0 ) and the Seattle Kraken ( 7-4-5 ) and unfortunately ou...

The entire fandom of the True North franchise was likely elated when word came out that defenseman Dylan Samberg shed the non-contact jersey in practice, signaling to one & all that Winnipeg’s best defensive player will be back in the line up for the next game. Last year the American was in the top 10 of many defensive categories, so with Sammy slipping into the 2nd pairing along side Neal Pionk …..there has to be hope that some of the Jets’ miscues will be remedied with the big guy patrolling...

The Winnipeg Jets ( 9-6-0 ) are in the midst of their first multi-game losing streak of the National Hockey League’s 2025-26 campaign, finding themselves on a 3 game skid as they head into their match with the Vancouver Canucks ( 8-8-1 ) on Tuesday night.
The True North franchise sits in a tie for the 11th best record in the NHL, yet in a sign of just how tightly contested the early part of the season has been, the Jets find themselves in a tie with 11 other clubs. On the other side of th...

The Winnipeg Jets have struggled on this west coast road trip so far, dropping their opening 2 contests to the LA Kings & SJ Sharks while just managing to score 1 goal on opposing tenders. As a result, the True North franchise’s record has dropped to 9-5-0 to start the NHL’s 2025-26 campaign.
With injuries disrupting the plans of head coach Scott Arniel from the start of the season, our favourite hockey team has not played nearly as well as they did during their President’s Trophy campaig...

The Winnipeg Jets ( 9-4-0 ) will continue their road trip with a visit to the San Jose Sharks ( 5-6-3 ) on Friday night ( 9 pm Central start ). The trip didn’t start off great as the True North offense dried up, allowing the Los Angeles Kings to shut out our club for the second time this year. Interestingly enough, the Sharks will be coming in off a big 6-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken, the other NHL team that has blanked the Jets this season.

Today I ended up having a bit of time to explore how some of the Winnipeg Jets’ prospects are doing early in their seasons. Since I figured I would let the players in the American Hockey League with the Manitoba Moose play some more games before I attempted to see how they were doing…that left me with the young men suiting up outside of the minor leagues. These include a lot of the True North franchise’s most recently drafted players, including 2025 1st rounder Sascha Boumedienne and other pro...

Despite injuries to three key players to start the season, the Winnipeg Jets have somehow managed to vault out to a 9-3-0 start to the NHL’s 2025-26 campaign. The underlying numbers aren’t anywhere near as good as they were last season, but the True Northers have been picking up wins regardless.

What a busy Saturday for me today!! So many things I want to do, but not enough time to fit everything in. Of course sports are playing a big part of that, with the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers facing the Montreal Alouettes at 1 pm ( Central ), the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets clashing with the Pittsburgh Penguins at 2 pm, and then the Toronto Blue Jays looking to win Game 7 of the MLB World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at 7 pm. The Winnipeg Jets probably stole another game last night in Saint Paul…which is getting to be quite the habit for our hockey club. Yet, despite the high level of rubber heading at their goaltenders, the True Northers have somehow managed to walk away with a 7-3-0 record.

The Winnipeg Jets ( 5-2-0 ) will face their first back-to-back game situation of the NHL’s 2025-26 campaign, but they likely should have plenty of energy left over since the True Northers only managed to exert a high level of effort in 1 period last night against the Seattle Kraken. Although the final scoreboard read 3-0 for the opposition, it was really only one goal that was the difference….and I happened to miss it while making a late supper mid-game.
