With the first week of the Stanley Cup Playoffs nearing its end, a side discussion over at SCH HQ between LBR and myself seemed like it’d be good to bring to the people here, as it has some relevancy to the team watching from home (or some beachfront property) that’s being assembled over at 1901 W. Madison.
A couple of teams with rather young forward groups have grabbed early headlines, led by the Philadelphia Flyers, up 3-0 on their interstate rivals from Pittsburgh. An also young Montre...

The Chicago Blackhawks were once again one of the worst teams in the NHL this season. This was not necessarily surprising, as they are still in the middle of a rebuild. With the Blackhawks having so many promising young forward prospects, it would not be surprising if they moved on from some of their veterans this offseason. Because of this, let's look at two forwards who could end up being traded this summer by Chicago. Teuvo Teravainen Teravainen could be a veteran forward to wat...

The Edmonton Oilers made two trades before the 2026 trade deadline. It’s already starting to pay off. Both of those trades were with the Chicago Blackhawks. On March 2nd, they sent a second-round pick for right-shot defenceman Connor Murphy at 50 per cent retention. The trade was lauded at the time, and deservingly so. The…

I try not to be too cynical about hockey's hiring practices, but there are often times where it seems like certain people were hired just because someone wants to reward that person for loyalty. We can talk about the nepotism that exists with guys like Scotty and Stan Bowman working for the Blackhawks and Dick and Chris Patrick managing the Capitals, but there seems to be a lot of times where owners simply create a position out of the blue for a legendary player or loyal player who played for ...

The Chicago Blackhawks have been patient through their rebuild, stockpiling picks and prospects while waiting for the right moment to accelerate.
That moment may be coming.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli was asked on VICTORY+ whether Chicago might make an aggressive move this offseason by targeting a high-end young forward, specifically naming Toronto Maple Leafs winger Matthew Knies and Dallas Stars winger Jason Robertson as realistic options.
Seravalli did not dismiss either name.
He re...

Chicago Blackhawks forward Ilya Mikheyev will be a player to watch now that the offseason is here for the Original Six club. The 31-year-old forward is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA), and it will be interesting to see if the Blackhawks extend him. He has been a very good addition for them, but it would also make sense if he tested the market after his strong season. In 77 games this season, he had 18 goals and a career-high 36 points. If Mikheyev ends up becoming a UFA this year, look...
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are here, which once again means it’s time for us Blackhawks to watch everyone else enjoy the experience of postseason hockey!
Hooray.
Anyway, we’ll continue our trends of posting two playoff game threads a week: one on Monday that covers the games through Thursday, and one on Friday for the weekend games.

I’ve been sitting on these thoughts since January and with the season completed, it’s time to get them on a screen. They aren’t so much about the Hawks as they are about this particular internet space.
I spend an incredible amount of time trying to figure out what to do with this website.
Much of that back-and-forth comes from a development four years ago, when we were contacted by Hawks PR and offered media credentials for a game for the first time. The Hawks won that night 3-1 over...

The Blackhawks ended the 2025-26 season on a positive note, rallying from a two-goal deficit to beat the San Jose Sharks 5-2 at the United Center on Wednesday night.
San Jose opened the scoring eight minutes into the game when this Mario Ferraro shot was stopped by Spencer Knight but the rebound ricocheted into the net off of Ethan Del Mastro:

Announced during team chairman Danny Wirtz’s pregame hit on CHSN prior to Wednesday’s game against the San Jose Sharks, the Blackhawks have given a multi-year contract extension to general manager Kyle Davidson.
The Blackhawks then confirmed the news in a press release, which also stated that terms of the deal were not disclosed due to team policy. Here’s the moment it all happened:

Game Preview
The San Jose Sharks have two more games left on the calendar this season and one is against a team in a similar spot in the rebuild as them. Tonight, the Sharks pay a visit to Chicago where the youngsters faceoff against Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks. The last time these two teams met, the Sharks got a taste of Chicago’s wicked fast power play and while Macklin Celebrini ultimately out dueled Bedard in a battle of the young super stars, it was a close one.
Neither team is makin...
It’s here: Game 82 of the regular season for the Chicago Blackhawks, who host the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night.
These two just played two Mondays ago , so there won’t be too much to dive into here. That game was a 6-2 loss for the Hawks in San Jose, who were hoping to grab a wild-card spot. They didn’t. At 80 games, the Sharks are fifth in the Pacific Division with 84 points, and it was the Los Angeles Kings who grabbed that final spot in the West — I’m just glad it wasn’t the Nashv...
