Despite Austin Reaves trending closer and closer to full health, that return won’t come against the Cavs. The Lakers have Reaves listed as out for the team’s stop in Cleveland on Wednesday. Adou Thiero also remains out. Those are the only two players listed on the team’s injury report. At the beginning of the road […]

It’s no secret that Luka Dončić is an amazing player. If he retired today, he would be a first ballot Hall of Famer. Luckily for the Lakers, Luka is far from retiring and is just entering his prime. This season, he’s averaging an NBA-best 33.8 points per game and recently demonstrated that offensive dominance in […]

With lots of teams set to have more significant draft and more open-ended roster situations over the summer, it appears that this season’s Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline next week could be a bit more muted than it has been in years past.
Yes, Trae Young is already elsewhere (more on him later). But it seems quite possible that changes of scenery for other All-Stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo , Zion Williamson and Ja Morant could all happen over the summer or beyond. The league’s best clubs may...

The Cleveland Cavaliers will welcome LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers into town for their annual pilgrimage to Cleveland. The Cavs are playing their best basketball of the season. They’ve won four in a row, seven of their last nine games, and 11 of their last 15. However, that was before it was announced […]

The Lakers were struggling early in January. Los Angeles had lost four of five games, with its only win coming against a mediocre Atlanta Hawks team. In defense of the Lakers, they were playing without Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura also missed some games during this stretch. Still, they looked more like a play-in team […]

Rui Hachimura’s talent is undeniable. He’s an elite shooter who is converting on 43.9% of his 3-point attempts on the season, making him the best perimeter threat on the Lakers. Recently, though, he’s been struggling. His calf injury forced him to miss seven straight games and upon his return, his production dipped. Hachimura averaged just […]

Down nine to start the second quarter in Denver, the team readied to go to the most unproductive bench in the league, scoring-wise. Seizing an opportunity in recent games, two-way center Drew Timme checks in for the Lakers in his new spot in the rotation next to fellow big man Deandre Ayton. His impact was […]

Derrick Rose at the United Center. LeBron James still terrorizing the Chicago Bulls. We’re back in 2012 again, aren’t we?
Last night, the Los Angeles Lakers put on an offensive masterclass against Chicago, knocking the Bulls back to a .500 record. But there’s a jam-packed week ahead.
Let’s talk Bulls basketball.
There’s a lot you can blame for the loss last night. The inability to stop Luka Dončić from… anything (he put up 46 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds) . Or failin...

The Mavericks were 1-1 this past week and remain locked into 12th place in the West. They played both games at home, beating Golden State (123-115) and losing to the Los Angeles Lakers (116-110). Dallas was supposed to fly to Milwaukee for a game on Sunday, but due to inclement weather, the game was postponed. […]

Ironically, on a night when the Bulls seemingly could not miss from three, the Lakers had one of their best defensive performances of the season. The box score does not bear it out too much, but that felt as locked in as the team has been defensively in some time. It tailed off a bit […]

I know, it was probably wrong of me to expect the Chicago Bulls to defend and beat one of the best offenses in the NBA. Especially one where Chicago is staring at two massive mismatches in LeBron James and Luka Dončić. That blind faith came at a cost, paid in full by a Dončić stat line that definitely padded his season averages.
Chicago had chances late to make things interesting, but in my opinion, it was too little, too late.

Luka Dončić poured in 46 points and the Lakers put together one of their better defensive performances of the season as they knocked off the Bulls in Chicago, 129-118. Our 23-22 Chicago Bulls have quietly pieced together a four-game win streak, despite being without best player Josh Giddey for two of those victories. Tonight, they’ll look to extend that run to five straight against the visiting Los Angeles Lakers (27-17), who come in in having gone just 4-6 over their last 10 contests.
On the court, the Lakers have looked anything but defensive. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for their image off the court. LA has been mired in some off-court cont...
