2026 Mets King of Spring Training, first update

The calendar has barely turned to March and we’ve already had a Francisco Lindor hamate surgery, dominant early performances from Nolan McLean and Freddy Peralta, a chess club, and a Soto shuffle. And now, in addition to all of that, we will be kicking off our annual King of Spring Training contest, in which we […]

Heat’s two bigs made history in win over Nets

While it wasn’t the most aesthetically pleasing brand of basketball, the Miami Heat washed away the tanking Brooklyn Nets, 124-98, Tuesday evening inside Kaseya Center. Miami was led by Bam Adebayo, who scored a game-high 23 points with nine rebounds on 11-of-24 shooting. Adebayo continued his torrid two-month stretch of play, as did Kel’el Ware, […] The post Heat’s two bigs made history in win over Nets appeared first on Hot Hot Hoops - Miami HEAT NBA Blog .

Could Tua Tagovailoa be heading to the Jets?

Yes, you read that correctly. According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the New York Jets are among a number of teams “doing their homework” on Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. It’s no secret that the Dolphins are actively shopping Tagovailoa around the NFL, however coy new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan wants to be […]

New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox: Luis Gil vs. Garrett Crochet

Good news, everyone: you’ll actually be able to watch today’s spring training game. After an offday on Monday and the first non-televised game at George M. Steinbrenner Field in some time in yesterday’s mercy-rule exhibition against Panama, the Yankees will be live on ESPN in Fort Myers to renew their rivalry with the Boston Red […]

Jets Potential Free Agents Part 3

Let’s move on to our third and final installment of potential Jets free-agent targets. We’ve already covered a wide range of names at different price points, so we’ll continue that trend by highlighting another player who could realistically join the Jets and provide positive value this free-agency cycle. Leo Chenal Chenal is a particularly intriguing […]

Yankees Birthday of the Day: Lefty O’Doul

An outstanding hitter who started his career as a pitcher is involved in a trade between the Yankees and Red Sox. While this statement could be used to outline the career of the legendary Babe Ruth, it also rings true for the not-nearly-as-renowned Lefty O’Doul — a talented player in his own right and the […]

Are we going to see more of Nick Morabito in 2026?

Nick Morabito was drafted by the Mets in the qualified offer free agent compensation round of the 2022 MLB Draft out of Gonzaga College High School in Washington D.C. At the time, he was considered a definite follow by regional scouts and evaluators, but his overall profile and post-draft evaluations made many question whether the […]

The Knicks are living and dying by the 3-pointer

When Mike Brown was hired as the new honcho in July, it was abundantly clear that the Knicks would fundamentally change their offensive identity. And while the team has been pretty similar to last season in terms of offensive rating, efficiency, and their overall standing in the league, there’s one thing that’s been different: three-point […]

Grading the Mavericks: Klay Thompson got a raw deal, but he has taken it in stride

The Mavericks were 1-4 over the last week and remain in 12th place in the West. They beat Brooklyn (123-114), and lost four largely uncompetitive games to Sacramento (130-121), Memphis (124-105), Oklahoma City (100-87), and Charlotte (117-90). Naji Marshall led the team in scoring with 20.3 points per game. Cooper Flagg (foot) remains out, while […]

Yankees 2026 Season Preview: Clarke Schmidt

Come Opening Day, the Yankees’ starting rotation will be far from full strength. Carlos Rodón and Gerrit Cole will both be on the injured list to begin the 2026 campaign, but the Bombers will also be without Clarke Schmidt for a significant stretch to begin the year. The right-hander is recovering from Tommy John surgery, […]
