It’s well documented how Texas Tech, through billionaire boosters like Cody Cambell has reinvented their athletics. Texas Tech appeared in the college football playoffs, has a top 25 basketball team, and its softball team nearly won a national title. The ACC may have its version of Texas Tech in SMU on the way. SMU is … Continue reading »
Barcelona presidential candidate Xavi Vilajoana has stopped talking about Harry Kane for a second and shared his thoughts on Marcus Rashford instead. Rashford’s loan deal expires at the end of the season but Barcelona do have an option to sign him permanently. However, Vilajoana doesn’t seem convinced about Rashford and thinks Jan Virgili may be […]
This season, we will get our first official taste of the Automated Ball-Strike Challenge System (ABS) in Major League Baseball. It has been used in the minors, and was used in the Arizona Fall League the last few years, but will officially be making its MLB debut this year. Here’s the overview: each team has […]
IU Basketball schooled by Painter, Smith, and Mayer! Back to work for Northwestern game!
Thoughts on a 93-64 loss to the Boilermakers: Indiana didn’t just lose tonight. It got its doors blown off, as the Boilermakers flipped the script from their loss in Bloomington last month. In the midst of a slump, Fletcher Loyer ...

Purdue has been on an incredible run in the four seasons that Braden Smith, Fletcher Loyer, and Trey Kaufman-Renn have been in West Lafayette. The trio have gone an impressive 108-23 mark that includes a pair of Big Ten title and a National Runner-Up finish. Four of those losses had come at the hands of […]
If you're a fan of Lego, you know that the company has been producing a line of minifigures over the last number of years that feature all sorts of wacky characters along with a number of licensed characters not released in sets. One of those figures that came was the one you see to the right as they had a minifigure dressed up like an ear of corn. What one would use this for in a Lego setting outside of being a mascot is harder to imagine, but what if there was a hockey team who decided to dr...
After a long week of practice coming off of a tough last weekend, the Phantoms were back in action tonight and looking to take advantage of a worn down and beaten up Hershey Bears team. It was a spirited matchup between two teams with no love lost between them, but it was one that the Phantoms fared well in — their offense finally found some spark and they were able to cruise to a reasonably tidy 4-1 win.
The basics
First period: 10:08- Alex Bump (Kyrou, Tomasino)PPG, 10:41- Cooper M...
Taking down the Brooklyn Nets doesn’t require much these days. The Oklahoma City Thunder did it tonight without the league MVP, his lead running mate, and the rhythm of recent play. The Nets gave OKC their first game in over a week this evening. Brooklyn, of course, had this one as back-to-back. It was also […]
For the second consecutive game, Indiana men’s basketball was completely outclassed on the road by a superior opponent. This time, the score was even more lopsided and came at the hands of Purdue, making it worse than the loss to Illinois on Sunday. It was clear within the first five minutes that this was going […]
The Cleveland Cavaliers did enough to outscore the Charlotte Hornets 118-113 to win their seventh game in a row. The stats in the table below are taken from Cleaning the Glass. Now, let’s dive into the numbers.

The Jazz win a massive tank battle! The Jazz lost a game against the Grizzlies that they led and controlled most of the first half, but fizzled out in the second half—losing the third and fourth quarters by a combined 21 points. It was actually a very important game. Before the game started, the Jazz […]
The Wolf Pack's offensive struggles continued as they fell in a close matchup on Friday night.
Quick thoughts on a 93-64 loss at Purdue: How it happened Indiana fell behind immediately on Friday night at Mackey Arena as Purdue was eager to avenge its loss to the Hoosiers in Bloomington last month. IU’s inability to defend ...

The Cleveland Cavaliers obliterated the Brooklyn Nets 112-84 in their first game back from the All-Star break. Let’s see who won the night. WINNER – Jarrett Allen “I’m running out of things to say about Jarrett Allen,” Donovan Mitchell said after the game. Same, Donnie. I really don’t know what else to say about Allen […]
While Friday night’s matchup with Purdue at Mackey Arena wasn’t a must-win game for Indiana’s NCAA Tournament chances, getting blown out to the point of not being competitive in the second half is never good. Especially against Purdue. After being upset in Assembly Hall in late January, Matt Painter had his team ready for this […]
Game. Blouses. Not that it matters much, but the Dallas Mavericks (19-36) lost their 10th straight game and their first out of the NBA All-Star Break on Friday, 122-111, to the Minnesota Timberwolves (35-22) at Target Center. The Timberwolves donned their Prince-inspired City Edition jerseys and served pancakes (probably) in the visitors’ locker room after […]
I hesitate to say that any game at this point in the season is a must win for the Boilermakers with the Big Ten race out of reach, but this game against IU, in Mackey Arena, certainly felt like one that Purdue really needed just for their mental peace. Oh, and seeding, they needed it […]
The Jazz snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and lost 114-123. Depending on who you ask this was either a masterclass in tanking, or an embarrassing implosion. This game also featured many familiar faces for both teams, (Hello Kyle Anderson, and Taylor Hendricks) as well as an emotional homecoming for Jaren Jackson Jr. Ace […]
In what was another dominant weekend for the Michigan State Spartans, Porter Martone once again proved why he’s seen as one of the best prospects in college hockey. The freshman winger exploded for four goals across the series, highlighted by a Friday night hat trick that showcased many elements of his toolkit. In the end, Michigan State defeated Notre Dame by a final score of 8-2.
The Spartans wasted little time in this one, with Martone setting the tone almost immediately. Just over a m...
