IRVING, Texas (June 1, 2026) – The National Football Foundation (NFF) announced today the names on the 2027 Ballot under consideration for induction into the NFF College Football Hall of Fame. The 2027 ballot includes 80 players and nine coaches from the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision and 99 players and 39 coaches from the NCAA divisional and NAIA ranks.
George Bork, a 1999 NFF College Football Hall of Fame inductee who became one of the most prolific quarterbacks in college football history at Northern Illinois from 1960-63, passed away at the age of 84.

Charlie Neal, the 2023 NFF Chris Schenkel Award recipient and the legendary voice of Historically Black College and University (HBCU) sports, passed away May 13. He was 80.
Charles Young, a 2004 NFF College Football Hall of Fame inductee who starred as a tight end at Southern California from 1970-72, passed away May 12. He was 75.
Craig Morton, a 1992 NFF College Football Hall of Fame inductee and a star quarterback at California from 1962-64, passed away May 9. He was 83.
Mickey Heinecken, a record-setting coach at Middlebury College for 28 years and the founder of the Vermont Chapter of the National Football Foundation, was one of 13 recent inductees into the Vermont Sports Hall of Fame. The hall inducted its 13th class on April 25, 2026 in South Burlington, Vermont.
The NFF University of Georgia Chapter recently recognized Orlean Castronis with its Distinguished American Award. She is a retired former journalist, the widow of one of the most popular players and coaches ever to wear the Red and Black.
