Free Agency Day Open Thread

Last year I made a joke about how we’d all sit around and wait for the inevitable Steven Stamkos re-signing in Tampa to be massively overshadowed by some other trade, and, uh, as you all know, that didn’t happen. This year I got nothin’. Pull up a chair and let’s see what happens.

A statement from Carl Pavlock

It is difficult to start this because it feels like I have already written it. A while ago, SBNation decided to let their hockey sites go, and it briefly seemed like I would be cut loose, never to write again.  While I am incredibly grateful to the people who donated to the GoFundMe, shared content this past season, and helped facilitate the move to an independent Five For Howling, it is time for this to end for me.  I, Carl Pavlock, will be stepping down from Five For Howling in all...

Dismantling and Dissecting

A team with high draft picks demanding high c...

GDT: Vegas baby!

Seriously, what more can this guy do? | Photo by Andy Devlin/NHLI via Getty Images Period 2 coming up. Skinner letting in a few meh goals. Remember, he’s a rookie backup and everyone is praising Holland for Ekholm. What seems to have been forgotten is that our starter is unplayable and we are relying on a rookie to play 80% of the remaining regular season games and then to win 16 more in playoffs. I love Skinner but it’s a big ask!
