NFL execs have ‘conflicting’ thoughts on 49ers offseason

The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the busier teams this offseason, signing eight free agents, while also bringing back a couple of their own free agents. Cirelli’s hat trick leads Lightning to 6-3 win over Penguins

With his bestest buddy watching from the sideline, Anthony Cirelli recorded his second career hat trick as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins, 6-3. With the win, and a Buffalo Sabres loss, the Lightning crept back into a tie atop of the division and crested the 100 point mark for the seventh time under Jon Cooper’s leadership. Speaking of keeping it 100, Zemgus Girgensons recorded his 100th career goal (and it was the eventual game-winner). Mitchell Chaffee returned ...

Hagel and Sabourin listed as “day-to-day”

On Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Lightning held a practice. At this time of year, that’s a pretty rare thing. With the amount of games they’ve played recently, rest is paramount to a team’s success. However, there is always a need to refine aspects of their game, something that can only be done in a controlled environment like practice. Not everyone participated, however. The lines we saw at today’s #GoBolts   practice: Guentzel-Point-Kucherov Goncalves-Cirelli-Bjorkstrand Girgensons-Gourde-H...

Strong start by Drew Rasmussen undone by errors: Rays 2, Brewers 8

Early season schedules are a peculiarity, and a getaway game on an early April afternoon is one of those things. The Rays were licking their wounds from a rough loss on Tuesday night—but a blessedly solid outing from the returning Shane McClanahan—and were hoping to come away with a series win before hitting the road. […]

Bottom Six Minutes: Juraj Slafkovsky looks to be in playoff mode

Every year, as the calendar slowly turns into the month of April, you start to get some real previews of what the NHL playoffs will look like. Tuesday night was one of those previews, with the Montreal Canadiens taking on a likely first-round foe in the Tampa Bay Lightning. It had all the checking and intensity of a playoff game, as the players knew how important the game could be for the final standings, on top of wanting to set the tone for a potential seven-game series to start between them...

Box Score Last season, the Brewers were known for forcing errors and causing chaos in games. If Tuesday is any indication, that’s going to continue in 2026. A pair of strange challenges were the highlight moments in a 6-2 win over the Rays. Brandon Woodruff got the start tonight, but the Brewers’ first inning troubles […]

Jake Guentzel had the Lightning’s lone goal while Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 19 shots, including several big saves early in the third period when the game was 2-1. Nikita Kucherov was held off of the scoreboard (and had two penalties) in his return to action after missing two games with an illness. Scott Sabouri...

Canadiens @ Lightning Top Six Minutes: Montreal claims a professional win in Tampa

First period This is an encouraging start from Montreal. They’re quickly moving the puck with support to get out of the defensive zone, and have gotten out to a 3-0 shot advantage in the opening couple of minutes. Jayden Struble loses body position and reaches out to give himself a boost to correct that. The referee is 20 feet away to see it and call the holding penalty. Tampa Bay uses the power play to take the lead in shots, but the game remains 0-0. That’s the type of urgen...
