GM Josh Byrnes on maxing out and adaptability

The Rockies have always prided themselves on being a draft-and-develop team. Without the dollars to match the Dodgers or Yankees, they have to; however, they haven’t excelled in either area in recent years.  Enter Colorado’s new general manager Josh Brynes, and his plan for development. Byrnes spent the last 11 years in Los Angeles, overseeing […]

Recap: Penalty-plagued Avalanche fall 5-2 to Wild

Tonight, the Colorado Avalanche welcomed the Minnesota Wild for a Central Division matchup at Ball Arena in Denver, CO, and it was the team in red and green that skated to victory. Much to the chagrin of onlooking Avalanche fans, Minnesota would tally two goals in the second period and three more in the third […]

Comments from the Other Side - Nuggets 2/25/26

This loss was a confluence of playing at altitude in the 3rd game in 4 nights and back to back games along with it being the final game of a road trip.  Can't be too upset.  Their shots were flat and they just didn't have enough in the tank to beat the Nuggets.  For all their complaints about Jokic, he had 30 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists.  They don't deserve him.   Once again I love how many Celtics fans that were there.   My favorites are in ...

Colorado Rockies prospects: No. 1, Charlie Condon

1. Charlie Condon (563 points, 19 ballots) Condon’s 2024 professional debut was a bit of a dud, but his first full season as a professional saw the 22-year-old righty slugger hit his way to Double-A. Condon received a MLB record-tying $9.25 million bonus as the third-overall pick in the 2024 draft (about $180k over slot) […]

Jaylen Brown feels optimistic after Celtics’ collapse to Nuggets: “It’s a journey”

The Boston Celtics could’ve secured a four-game road trip sweep over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night, had it not been for their second-half tumble. Defensive lapses, a no-show from the reserve unit, and countless missed opportunities doomed the Cs. But instead of sulking in the aftermath, Jaylen Brown took a different, more constructive approach […]

Rockies players and coaches offer their thoughts on the new ABS system

Over the last few years, we have seen a number of rule changes to Major League Baseball. This year is no different, with the addition of the Automated Ball-Strike System (ABS) at the major league level.  It was originally implemented in the minors starting in 2022, and a few stadiums began using it in spring […]

Recap: Avs return from the Olympic break on the right foot

In their first game back from the Olympic break, the Colorado Avalanche took care of business against a familiar central division opponent in the Utah Mammoth, winning by a final score of 4-2. Nathan MacKinnon sat out this contest due to “maintenance”, while every other Avalanche Olympian participated. We’ll see about MacKinnon’s availability moving forward. […]

Nuggets hand Celtics first loss of road trip 103-84

The Boston Celtics traveled to Denver to face the Nuggets Wednesday night. Boston had been surging up the power rankings with a blistering month of February and faced off against the fourth placed Nuggets. Boston played a decent enough first half, but they could not hang with Denver in the second and eventually losing by […]
