Over the next few weeks I will be looking at the top performers at each level in the Astros system. This week is the Corpus Christi Hooks. Zach Cole, OFCole got off to a slow start this season with some injuries but once he got hot he couldn’t be stopped. He started the year in […]
The Minnesota Vikings’ run defense has been a sore spot this season. The Defensive Interior, for the most part, has not performed up to expectations. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah invested heavily in a few high-priced, but oft injured, defensive linemen this past offseason. Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave have not lived up to their contracts. PFF has […]

Life is too short to be looking at mock drafts in October, but that is the life we have chosen as Tennessee Titans fans. Last year, we had the debate about whether or not we should cheer for losses to help the draft position. The sad thing about this year is that there really isn’t […]
The Monday edition of the Links, News, and Notes!
Sloppy play continued to spoil the Chicago Bears’ efforts this week, this time too much to overcome. Let’s get to my notes. Offense: Defense: Special Teams: What about you? What were some of your top takeaways from the loss in Baltimore?
The Steelers haven’t had a lot to celebrate over the last two weeks, dropping two games in a row to the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers, respectively. The latest loss was largely a copy and paste of the defensive woes from Week 7. There was a small number of quality performances that should be […]
On Sunday night, the Blackhawks lost a game to the Los Angeles Kings. Early in the third period, forward Ilya Mikheyev put his speed on display while killing a penalty. He was in the process of creating a potential scoring chance — skating 1-on-3, I might add — when he got tripped. Mikheyev went into the boards hard behind the LA net and left the game. He did not return.

Oregon Ducks volleyball and soccer played thrilling matches yesterday, and if you missed them then you missed out on what makes Oregon Ducks sports great. Soccer Oregon soccer ended their season with their only conference win of the season – a stunning, 2-1 upset victory over the #8 Washington Huskies. The game was a defensive […]
A winless run that Juventus hasn’t seen take place at the club since the 2008-09 season has cost Igor Tudor his job. Juventus announced Monday that they have fired the 49-year-old Tudor, who originally arrived at the club as the interim manager back in March after Thiago Motta was fired. Tudor was confirmed and had […]
Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links … Roob’s Observations after Eagles avenge loss to Giants with unstoppable offense – NBCSPIt’s been an up-and-down first couple months for Kevin Patullo – mainly down – but he was fantastic Sunday. We saw variety in run calls, we saw a nice mix of run and […]
If you are still trying to piece together how that Week 8 Chicago Bears loss happened, just know that you are not alone.
All Caleb Williams had to do was outperform Tyler Huntley and the Bears would’ve had a real shot at winning this game. And in the first quarter, he did. But then, the rest of the game happened. It should not sit well with anyone at Halas Hall that the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft was outplayed by a journeyman backup. Granted, Huntley is one of the league’s...
I sincerely hope that you are spending the entirety of your day thinking of new and exciting ways to hate the Florida Gators. You could certainly do so on a boat, with a goat, in a house, with a mouse, in a box, with a fox, on your belly, or with Brian Kelly. Actually that […]
The bye week is over for the Las Vegas Raiders and they are back at him to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. PT. Let’s take a quick look at the Jaguars: Record: The Jaguars are 4-3 and are also coming off their bye week after […]
With the second bye week having come and gone, the Buckeyes enter the final stretch of the season with two stiff tests and five total games remaining. Ohio State enters that stretch undefeated at 7-0 and ranked first in the nation. Despite heavy losses to the NFL and a having a new defensive coordinator, the […]
When the Edmonton Oilers aren’t winning, it can feel like the sky is falling. Their 4-4-2 record isn’t ideal after ten games, but it’s far from disastrous. At this point, it almost feels like we should adjust our expectations and accept that the Oilers might start the season slowly. We haven’t seen the best of…
With a month gone by in the 2025-26 season, what better time than now to look at some takeaways for the squads in Hockey East?
The team always knew that Garrett Stubbs would be with the Phillies in some capacity. His minor league option that he had available, couple with the one that Rafael Marchan did not, meant that he was going to the minor leagues for the season outside of a possible injury. But was there a higher purpose […]
Arizona is coming off its second bye week and now hits the stretch run with five games in five weeks as it pushes for bowl eligibility. But the UA isn’t the only team or players that fans are interested in. The 21 commits that Arizona has in the 2026 and 2028 (!!) classes are also […]
The New Orleans Saints opened their divisional account when they hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Here’s a quick look at all that went down. First Quarter Spencer Rattler got the Saints up and running on the game’s first drive with a pair of 10-yard passes to Rashid Shaheed and Devaughn Vele, but his […]

Last week, our Rangers Reacts question asked which Texas Rangers pitcher hitting the free agent market you’d most like to see the team bring back. In a close vote, trade deadline addition Merrill Kelly was the top choice, narrowly edging out fellow starter Tyler Mahle and reliever Shawn Armstrong. Phil Maton, Patrick Corbin and Hoby […]
The Denver Broncos wiped the floor with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. It was more of requirement for them to fulfill as a game on their schedule than one that was up for grabs. While the Cowboys put the first points of the day on the board the Broncos made sure to be the team […]
