Chicago Bears Midweek Musings: Hello Darkness, My Old Friend
Some random thoughts about the Chicago Bears and other things, mostly football-related as we count down the hours until we get to watch this team play football again: Have you ever watched a movie, hated it, then found yourself watching it again and again? Maybe it’s a popular movie that was always on when you […]
Chicago Bears News: Shemar Turner returns, Montez Sweat supended
The Chicago Bears get some good news and Shemar Turner is ready to come back from the PUP list. They also get some bad news as their best edge rusher (such as that is) is suspended for performande-enhancing substances. This is why we can’t have nice things. Share your thoughts in Windy City Gridiron in […]
Reviewing the Bears’ PFN grades from Week 5 vs. Packers
Of the potential outcomes the Bears could’ve faced in their Week 5 matchup against the Packers, few likely anticipated that the game would result in a 31-7 Green Bay victory. Unfortunately for the beloved, that proved to be the case on Sunday. If you’ll go across any forum where Bears enthusiasts talk with each other, […]
Hot Take Tuesday: Bears-Packers: A Brutal Beating and the End of a Brutal Discourse
Well, that certainly wasn’t fun. The Chicago Bears probably played their worst game of the Ben Johnson era, and unfortunately, it came against the Green Bay Packers in a brutal 31-7 whipping up at Lambeau Field. I, like many Bears fans, felt damn good going into this one. It felt like two teams going in […]
Chicago Bears week 6 power rankings roundup
Humble pie tastes awful. Especially when it’s served with extra cheese from that team. The Chicago Bears need to lick their wounds and prepare for another road game against a high-powered offense. But before we get there, we have to look at where the pundits and analysts have the Bears ranked. WCG – Aaron Leming […]
Montez Sweat suspended 2 games
The Chicago Bears suffered an additional setback to their 2026 season on October 13th when Pro Bowl defensive end Montez Sweat was suspended without pay for two games, per Ian Rapoport and others. Sweat is currently third on the team for pressures and sacks and fourth for tackles for a loss. He should be eligible […]
Chicago Bears Rome Odunze needs to be better, but the drop narrative is unfair
Let’s get this out of the way — Rome Odunze has not yet played like the #9 overall pick. He has played like a solid WR, but when you draft a WR in the top 10, you rightfully should expect him to become a top of the league player. Still, I think Rome is getting […]
10 Thoughts on the NFL: RIP to Da Coach
1. Rest in peace to Bears legend Mike Ditka, who starred for Chicago as a revolutionary tight end and then delivered the city its only Super Bowl. Keep those sweater vests in rotation this whole year, especially for when the Bears return home in a few weeks. 2. Let’s keep it real: the Green Bay […]
Stock up, stock down: Bears-Packers review
It’s getting tough to get a read on the Chicago Bears. They’ve been feast or famine through five games. Scoring 59 points, then three. Then 27, 23 and crashing back to seven points. The defense allowed 37, nine, seven, 12 and 31 points. Of course, it’s hard to find consistency with your backup quarterback(s). Ideally, […]
3 Reasons Why the Chicago Bears Lost vs. the Packers
We are on to the fifth installment of my new series for the 2026 season, where I recap what I believe were the three reasons the Chicago Bears won or lost the previous game. In week 5 at Lambeau Field, we all know what happened. The question is why? Here are my three reasons. 1. […]
Tyson Bagent reminds Chicago Bears fans how good they have it with Caleb Williams
Hope you learned your lesson, Bears fans. Well, not all of you. Just the ones who thought Tyson Bagent could (or should) be a starting quarterback in the NFL—for this Chicago Bears team, in fact. I do have to say it’s not quite fair that I’m even writing this. After all, the undrafted free agent […]
NFL Week 6 Power Rankings: General Thoughts On Each Team
You think you’ve got the league figured out heading into Week 6? Think again! Unpredictability and league-wide parity remain at an all-time high. Heading into a new week, five new teams would be in the playoffs if the season ended today. Plenty of teams are in the mix, but the gap between the best and […]
Chicago Bears News: Bears players, coaches, managment under microsope
You wouldnt’ think an early-season loss with a backup quarterback would bring on so much drama in the media and fanbase, yet here we are. Yes, they were bad. Yes, the team has holes, some of which have lingered for far too long. But it’s also true that some media members (and other folks) are […]
Bears vs Packers: Bomb’s Away
That was a thorough whistle-to-whistle butt-kicking, and the Chicago Bears need to regroup and turn the page after the stink bomb they dropped in Green Bay yesterday. The Bears fell behind 14 to 0, made it interesting heading into the half at 14 to 7, but did nothing coming out of the break and lost […]
Bears’ Ben Johnson doesn’t name a starting QB if Caleb Williams is out
Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson met with the media today, and as expected, the quarterback was the topic du jour after the loss in Green Bay. Starter Caleb Williams hasn’t logged a full practice since injuring his hamstring, and backups Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum combined for four turnovers and four sacks in yesterday’s […]
10 Bears Takes: Packers Week was a disaster, a Caleb Williams return, and more
Week 5 was Packers week, and despite being favored for the first time in two decades heading into Lambeau Field, the wheels came off the backup quarterback experience in the form of a 31-7 beatdown on Sunday afternoon. In a game that the Bears never led, and frankly, never felt like they were in, it […]
Bears vs. Packers: Inside the Snap Counts, Stats, and Jordan Love’s Explosives
All that offensive ball control dominance the Chicago Bears have had so far this season didn’t help them against Jordan Love and the explosive Green Bay Packers offense yesterday. In Chicago’s 31-7 loss, Love was 25 of 31 (80.6%) for 367 yards, with 2 touchdowns and a passer rating of 137.5. His 367 passing yards […]
Bears falter on both sides of ball in blowout loss to Packers
The Chicago Bears have had a rough history with the Green Bay Packers throughout the last decade or so, and that bad luck continued on Sunday. Their 31-7 loss to Green Bay dropped them to a 3-2 record for the 2026 season, and it saw them dominated on both sides of the ball. Though the […]
Chicago Bears News: Bears backup QBs not up to task against Green Bay Packers
The good guys took it on the chin as the Chicago Bears, led by a backup quarterbacking duo, fell flat in Green Bay against the Packers. Not what we wanted to see, but it is what it is, time to press on towards next week. Share your thoughts in Windy City Gridiron in the comment […]
Chicago Bears Injury Update: Caleb Williams is ‘on track’ and ‘close’
At the start of his postgame press conference, Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson addressed the three players who exited their 31 to 7 loss to the Green Bay Packers with injuries, linebacker TJ Edwards (hamstring), cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (hamstring), and defensive lineman Dayo Odeyingbo (quad), by saying they’ll know more about them tomorrow. All […]
Green Bay Packers rout the Bagent-led Chicago Bears in Lambeau
Lambeau Field has rarely been kind to the Chicago Bears in recent seasons, but Sunday’s 31-7 dismantling felt especially deflating for a team that entered the afternoon with a chance to seize control of the NFC North. Even more so in the wake of the loss of Iron Mike Ditka. Without Caleb Williams under center […]

Join your fellow Windy City Gridiron members right here all afternoon to talk about the Chicago Bears (3-1) vs. the Green Bay Packers (2-2) game! Emotions are always high when these two NFC North rivals play, but with the recent passing of Mike Ditka, one of the greatest Chicago Bears of all time and someone […]
Bears-Packers Inactives: Caleb Williams and Ozzy Trapilo still out
The Chicago Bears (3-1) and the Green Bay Packers (2-2) kick off at Noon (CT) from Lambeau Field, and this one will be emotional. Each team has just announced its inactive player list for today’s game, and we have those right here. CHICAGO BEARS INACTIVES LT – Ozzy Trapilo DE – Jamree Kromah DT – Jayden Loving LB – […]
Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers Week 5 Pregame Live Message Board
Good morning, Bears fans. Welcome to Packer Week. The Bears are 2-0 in the “Missing Caleb Williams” Era, and after collecting wins with both Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent in the last two weeks, the Bears’ overall quarterback room has rarely looked stronger. And as Williams nears a return, the Bears look to pick up […]
