Good morning, LSB. Not seeing any Rangers news out there this morning, but there’s plenty on Shohei Ohtani playing perhaps the greatest game in baseball history last night as the Dodgers clinched another World Series berth against the Brewers. Aaaand the Mariners are a win away from a pennant of their very own. So there’s […]
With the 2025 Texas Rangers season having come to an end, we shall be, over the course of the offseason, taking a look at every player who appeared in a major league game for the Texas Rangers in 2025. Today we are looking at Luis Curvelo. The signing of Luis Curvelo was one of the […]
Good morning, LSB. Kennedi Landry writes about new manager Skip Schumaker’s role in fixing the Rangers’ cruddy offense. Shawn McFarland takes a look at the Rangers’ closer situation heading into the offseason. And 2023 Texas Rangers World Series champion pitcher Max Scherzer is still delightfully pyscho. That’s about all there is this morning. Happy Friday.
Two games!
Let’s talk 2026 Texas Rangers payroll. We don’t know how much the Rangers payroll is going to be in 2026. It appears likely that it will be less than it was in 2025, since part of the reason given for Bruce Bochy’s decision not to return as manager in 2026 was the team’s “financial uncertainty” […]

There will be a rundown of everyone at the end of the year so no particular reason to go over Nunez's power surge or Wood's power drop (before today) right now. Instead let's meet some newer guys since there are a lot of new faces around Jorge Alfaro - in the "we gotta try something behind the plate" world that the Nats are in - here is Alfaro. If the name sounds familiar we was a big-time prospect about a decade ago for the Phillies, a key piece to the Rangers trade f...
This time of year, as the runway of games left dwindles down, you especially rue the near-misses, the games that looked like wins but turned into losses. That was the case earlier this week when the Red Sox let a three-game sweep of the Rangers slip away in a back-and-forth affair that ended in a […]

After getting two wins in the series, the Red Sox had a chance to win all three games against the Rangers, but missed out on Wednesday, dropping the final game 9-7 in ten innings. It was another wasted starting effort for the Sox and particularly for Tanner Houck, who allowed two earned runs over 6.2 […]

Last night the Seager brothers trotted out on the field to play each other for the first time in their careers, and their play didn't disappoint. They both had multiple hits, including home runs that no doubt impressed the other. Unfortunately for them, only one team can win the game. Per Alden Gonzalez at ESPN :
"You're still trying to win a game," (Corey) Seager said Monday, "but when you got around him, it was hard not to see your brother in the opponent."
