According to Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports, the lefty batter will be in the Diamondbacks’ lineup this evening as they take on the Rangers. The D-backs designated Smith for assignment and sent him outright to Triple-A Reno in July. So, they will need to clear a 40-man space before they can officially add him back to the roster.
