An early goal by junior Ashley Stockdale and some stellar second-half defense – including a pair of defensive stances in the final minute – proved to be the difference, as No. 6 Duke (2-0) grinded out a 1-0 victory at Richmond (1-1) in Sunday afternoon non-conference field hockey action.

DURHAM, N.C. - Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium will close the weekend with a ranked matchup between No. 19 Duke and No. 6 Georgetown on Sunday, Aug. 30. The Blue Devils (2-1) and Hoyas (2-0-1) are slated for a 6 p.m. start, with tickets available for purchase here.
